Innocent Love

A 6 yr old boy was in the market with his 4 yr old sister. Suddenly the boy found that his sister was lagging behind. He stopped and looked back. His sister was standing in front of a toy shop and was watching something with great interest. The boy went back to her and asked, “Do you want something?” The sister pointed at the doll. The boy held her hand and like a responsible elder brother, gave that doll to her. The sister was very very happy… The shopkeeper was watching everything and getting amused to see the matur behaviour of the boy… Now the boy came to the counter and asked the shopkeeper, “What is the cost of this Doll, Sir? !” The shopkeeper was a cool man and had experienced the odds of life. So he asked the boy with a lot of love & affection, “Well, What can you pay? The boy took out all the shells that he had collected from sea shore from his pocket and gave them to the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper took the shells and started counting as if he were counting the

The Cobbler who also mends souls

There is a cobbler who sits across the street in front of my office building. Every day, I see that there is a stray dog who comes and sits with him as soon as he arrives at the place, and he feeds him biscuits and some times milk. The man goes about his work while the dog sits there and gives him company. One can feel that there is a connection between them and that unknown to everyone, they are having a conversation without a word being said. There is also food that he brings for birds, which he keeps at different places on the street pavement where he sits for his work. Many people stop by and ask him for directions, and he always guides them with a smile. Even if he doesn't get any business from them. If he sees a homeless person going by, he offers them water and food that he has brought for himself, and engages in conversations with them. One can see and feel the peace the conversations bring to them. I felt I had to go and meet him today. He smiled at me and said his name is

Service of Mankind is Service to God

The term   “Service of mankind is service to God”  means that  selfless  service for the cause of humanity is as important as  worshiping to God. Love of mankind is in Vivekananda’s  opinion, the worship of God.  This is the gist of all worship is to be pure and to do well to others. A person who devotes his life for the betterment of the human race is loved by God. If there is any God,  he would rather want us to live not only for ourselves but for our fellowmen too. Great men knew this truth. Life to them was action. This is the service of others. A life lived for selfish gains, regardless of others needs, is worse than death. A bird or a beast collects food for itself and its young ones. It is some kind of work no doubt, but it is not that kind of work that man is expected to do. He is the roof and crown of creation and so he is supposed to live a larger life by applying himself to the service of humanity.

Presence of mind

A student of mine decided to apply for a job. Applicants were supposed to apply only online.  The fee to be paid in advance for General Candidates was Rs. 100.  For Reserved Category candidates, no fee was payable. Being from Reserved Catagory, he was exempted from paying Application Fee. He opened this organisation’s Website & started filling up the columns one after another. Being exempted from paying application fee,  he did not fill up columns connected with fee but when he tried to submit his application, the system will not accept. In spite of several repeated attempts, he was unable to submit his application.  He asked me if I could help. Although I am not computer savvy still I had a look at the online form & could read that “No Column Should Be Left Blank”. I made him take out his cheque book & fill in the columns: -Mode of Payment: Cheque No … -Date … -Bank Name … -Branch … -Application Fee Amt Paid 000 (In the last column I told him to write 000 in place of 100)

Surprise Reward

WOMAN BUYS LUNCH FOR STRANGER, WHAT HE DID IN RETURN WILL SURPRISE YOU  There is so much variety of video content available on social media. From cooking videos to DIY hacks, you'll find everything at your fingertips with the touch of a button. But there's one kind of content that somehow manages to invoke emotions within us, that is, random acts of kindness. We often come across these incredibly generous gestures by citizens that inspire us to do and give more. Recently, a video surfaced on Twitter that showed one such awe-inspiring kind deed. A woman offered to buy lunch for a stranger, and what he did in return will surprise you. Take a look:  In the 43-second clip,  a lady  is seen  shopping for groceries. A man says in the voiceover that he forgot his wallet at home and requested her to buy a 'lunch'. She quickly agreed, much to the man's surprise. The lady herself was in for a surprise when he said, "I have to tell you something. All your groceries are f

Secret of Richness

I want to share with everyone the concept of  secret of richness.  How do you know you are rich? Amazing answer by a Engineering student.  When I was doing my B Tech, there was a Professor who used to teach us ‘Mechanics’. His lectures used to be very interesting since he had an interesting way to teach and explain the concepts. One day, in the class, he asked the following questions:- 1. What is ZERO? 2. What is INFINITY? 3. Can ZERO and INFINITY be same? We all thought that we knew the answers and we replied as following, ZERO means nothing INFINITY means a number greater than any countable number ZERO and INFINITY are opposite and they can never be same He countered us by first talking about infinity and asked, ‘How can there be any number which is greater than any countable number?’ We had no answers. He then explained the concept of infinity in a very interesting way, which I remember even after more than 35 years. He said that imagine that there is an illiterate shepherd who can

HealthyEatingTips

We all need a balance of protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals in our diets to sustain a healthy body. You don’t need to eliminate certain categories of food from your diet, but rather select the healthiest options from each category. Protein  gives you the energy to get up and go—and keep going—while also supporting mood and cognitive function. Too much protein can be harmful to people with kidney disease, but the latest research suggests that many of us need more high-quality protein, especially as we age. That doesn’t mean you have to eat more animal products—a variety of plant-based sources of protein each day can ensure your body gets all the essential protein it needs. Fat . Not all fat is the same. While bad fats can wreck your diet and increase your risk of certain diseases, good fats protect your brain and heart. In fact, healthy fats—such as omega-3s—are vital to your physical and emotional health. Including more healthy fat in your diet can help improve
